COMMUNITY EDUCATION + ENGAGEMENT

B-READY™

Community-powered cancer education for stronger, healthier communities.

B-READY builds a community of trained ambassadors who lead trusted conversations about cancer in the places where people already gather, from churches and community centers to civic organizations, national gatherings, and beyond.

Together, we share reliable information, encourage people to take action, and help communities build greater knowledge around cancer prevention, screening, testing, and care.

ABOUT B-READY

Training community ambassadors. Creating healthier communities.

B-READY trains trusted community members to become ambassadors who can facilitate B-READY sessions on their own. Ambassadors bring cancer education into the places where they already have relationships and trust. They host conversations, share practical information, connect people to resources, and encourage participants to take informed next steps. This grassroots approach builds local leadership and helps cancer education continue long after a single event ends.

HOW B-READY WORKS

Listen. Educate. Empower. Lead.

LISTEN

We start by listening to understand the real questions, concerns, experiences, and needs in each community.

EDUCATE

We share clear, culturally relevant information about cancer risk, prevention, screening, testing, treatment, and care.

EMPOWER

We prepare community ambassadors with information, tools, and resources they can use to lead B-READY conversations in their own communities.

LEAD

Ambassadors take what they have learned back into trusted spaces, creating conversations, connecting people to resources, and helping build healthier communities.

FAITH COMMUNITIES

Faith communities as health partners.

Trusted spaces can open the door to health conversations that might not happen anywhere else.

Through B-READY, Touch4Life works with faith-based communities to bring cancer education into places where people already have relationships, connection, and a sense of belonging.

Rather than delivering a one-size-fits-all presentation, we work with community leaders to understand what people want and need to know and build conversations around those questions.

Reaching Black men through faith, trust, and community.

Touch4Life’s work with Ebenezer A.M.E. Church demonstrates the power of bringing prostate cancer education directly into a trusted community setting.

Black men continue to experience significant disparities in prostate cancer outcomes, yet many have had limited opportunities to talk openly about screening, genetics, biomarker testing, clinical trials, precision medicine, and what those issues may mean for them.

Through B-READY, Touch4Life brought together clinicians, community leaders, people with lived experience, education, and conversation to create an environment where men could ask questions, learn, and take a more active role in their health.

Trusted Community Setting

Education delivered in spaces where relationships and trust already exist

Meaningful Conversations

Real discussions about screening, testing, cancer risk, treatment, and care

The lesson is simple: when trusted information meets trusted community, people engage.
COMMUNITY AT SCALE

Expanding the impact.

B-READY reaches people through the organizations and networks they already know and trust.

Some experiences may involve a small group gathered for a community conversation. Others take place at national conventions, conferences, health fairs, and large-scale events reaching hundreds or thousands of people.

By working through established organizations, Touch4Life can bring cancer education into communities without asking people to find us first.

Sororities, D9 + Legacy Community Organizations

Fraternities, sororities, service organizations, and family leadership networks have deep relationships across generations and communities.

Touch4Life has engaged communities through Divine Nine organizations, The Links, Incorporated, Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and other trusted networks.

These collaborations create opportunities to share cancer education, screening information, biomarker and genetic testing resources, wellness experiences, and practical tools people can take back to their families and communities.

BRAND AMBASSADOR

Meet Kemith “KC” Calvin

Kemith “KC” Calvin is a Touch4Life Brand Ambassador, prostate cancer survivor, and longtime educator in Prince George’s County Public Schools.

His work with Touch4Life shows what happens when lived experience becomes community leadership.

KC has helped lead 9 Touch4Life community events, using his own prostate cancer journey to create honest conversations about men’s health, screening, early detection, and the importance of speaking up about your health.

Through those conversations, he encourages men and families to prioritize their health, ask questions, get screened, and share information that could help someone else.
